Communications received (E.g. on ).

  • We received a poster about the provision in the new "Localism Act" for Parish Councils to (subject to referendum) create a forum for preparing a "neighbourhood plan", choose where they want new homes, shops and offices to be built, and grant planning permission (subject to local and national planning policies). There is a free workshop on this at the Magacentre, Sheffield on 2012-03-21.
  • We have received a couple of enquiries from Students of Hallam University. I have already replied to one, and unless anybody objects or wants to take it on, will give some reply to the others.
  • We have been asked if we are interested in a "form of service"  for the dedication of the war memorial on 24/09/1921, marked James Beever. If anybody is interested, just let JP or RT know, and they will give you details of the email.

12/00698/DPN09/03/201209/03/2012South Yorkshire Laboratory Station Road Ecclesfield Sheffield S35 9YR Demolition of single-storey outbuildingsPending Consideration
This is not the rather fine building which can be seen on the Left when going down Station Road from "The Common", but is on the Excelsior Works Industrial Estate behind it.

12/00587/DPN02/03/201206/03/2012Former Station Building Grange Lane Ecclesfield Sheffield S5 0DP Demoliton of buildingGrant Prior Notification
Permission to demolish this building was granted on 12th March. The officer's report said that the building was dangerous, and that the land will be top-soiled and grass seeded. The Old Station is on the left when going from "Green Lane" down "Deep Lane", under the railway, before the road goes under the Motorway. It is on a an interesting walking route, and is advertised for cycling (but beware of punctures).

12/00649/FUL28/02/201228/02/2012170 Ecclesfield Road Chapeltown Sheffield S35 1TE Single-storey front extension to garagePending Consideration
I am not sure where No. 170 is. From the plans the front of the garage does protrude beyond the bay, but I don't know how far back from the road the house is.
